Osi Umenyiora to Trent Richardson: "Come & Get It"
Trent Richardson has made a habit of talking a bit of trash heading into games against good defenses. He's exchanged jabs with Rey Maualuga of the Bengals and while I don't see any issues with what he said entering this week's game against the New York Giants, apparently Osi Umenyiora did.
Richardson was quoted saying:
“I think that if we cover the edges and run hard, no doing all this juking and that, one move and go, I think we can have success in the running game,” Richardson said.
No big deal, right? Just a guy who is confident in his ability and sees opportunities for success if he and his team executes, right?
Osi didn't see it that way saying:
“If (Trent) looks on tape and he thinks he sees some candy, come try and get it,” Umenyiora said Friday.
Osi's teammate, Mathias Kiwanuka, also got in on the action:
“If he proves it, I’ll shake his hand and tap him on the butt. If he doesn’t, I expect never to hear from him again. The thing that he’s got to learn is that in this game, talking doesn’t mean anything.”
Osi apparently enjoys trash talk with running backs after his feud with LeSean McCoy of the Eagles who happened to rack up 123 yards rushing on Osi's Giants last week.
