Immediate thoughts on the Detroit Lions new uniforms, what we love and what we hate
USA Today-Fanatics

The Detroit Lions were supposed to have a big night Thursday night when they unveiled their brand new uniforms for the world to see. Then a snafu with USA Today and Fanatics completely ruined that when they leaked the Lions new uniforms hours ahead of time

Ok, Here's my immediate take. I love them. I love everything about them. I literally have zero complaints.

The Lions are clearly going with a 90's look that also has a modern flare to it. The holes in the numbers are a perfect nod to the 90's jerseys that you used to be able to buy at JC Penny or Hudson's. This look is going to go crazy on the field and they're going to sell like crazy.

Then there's the long awaited, for some, return of the black jerseys. I have personally been asking for the return of this for a long time. Since the Lions original color rush jerseys were black and blue and we never got to see them. My next hope is that we will get to see the blue helmet the Lions debuted last year with the black jerseys. Hopeful there's black pants too.

While we know what the jerseys look like, there's still a lot to learn about the Lions uniforms as a whole. We don't know what pants they have outside of the blue plants that we saw in their teaser. We also don't know what uniform combinations that they'll have. Lastly, we don't know if there's been upgrades to the helmet look or if the Lions will have a third helmet design now that the league permits it to teams that are re-designing their look in 2024.

We'll find out all that stuff Thursday night.
