Danish tennis veteran Caroline Wozniacki is through to the Indian Wells Open quarterfinals where she will meet World No. 1 and 2022 champion Iga Swiatek . The 33-year-old has done a great job to reach the quarterfinal after getting a wildcard entry. But it gets tougher for Wozniacki as she is set to face Swiatek in the fifth round.

The 33-year-old is aware of the challenge this brings for her but she is ready to challenge the top-ranked player in the world. Wozniacki says that she will play her best tennis when she faces Swiatek for a spot in the semifinal.

The Danish WTA star has been playing ever since her comeback to tennis after a long break. Wozniacki also made it to the fourth round at the 2023 US Open. Now, here in Indian Wells, Wozniacki has fought hard on her way to the quarterfinals and she is ready for more.

Caroline Wozniacki ready to challenge Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinal

As the 33-year-old Danish tennis star gets ready to face Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinal, Caroline Wozniacki has acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead of her. The Dane says that she has been following Swiatek’s game for close quarters for a long time now.

However, the 33-year-old is wise enough to understand that it is a different game altogether to go head-to-head against a player of such high caliber.

I have obviously commentated some of her matches. I know how she's playing. Obviously, she's playing good tennis, playing powerfully. I practiced with her as well a few times after I have come back, during the US Open as well. Caroline Wozniacki said at the press conference.

Wozniacki has promised to play her best tennis against the Polish ace.

I know how she plays, but it's one thing knowing how she plays and also playing against her in a full match. I know that I have to play my best tennis to compete against her, and that's what I hope to do. The Danish ace said.

It is worth mentioning that Caroline Wozniacki and Iga Swiatek have faced each other only once so far in their career. The first time the two players locked horns was way back in 2019 when Swiatek had defeated the Dane in three sets.
